I was cleaning out an old digital camera today, and found some great old pictures. The first ones are of a pre-dawn Kenyan Run practice at Sierra sometime in January, the next set are of our trip to Orlando for the Disney Invitational Track Meet.
The above pictures show why we field a championship caliber team every year. We will train in freezing temperatures, in the dark, when everyone else is sleeping in on their day off from school. It simply boils down to how hard and how smart you train.
These are from our trip to Florida, much warmer temps!
(The big guy in the middle is David Oliver, the bronze medalist in the 110 hurdles from the 2008 Olympics. But who is the fat guy with the cheesy mustache in the hat on the right?)
(Coach Maroney and Team Mom Krisi figuring out how to convince those guys behind them to move to Parker. They were quick!)
(Our female sprinting contingent, they represented CHS very, very well that day!)
(That is a pretty fast looking team!)
That trip to Disney was so great, in the short term and in the long term, for all the kids that went. It was such a confidence boost to all of our athletes, I can't wait to get back again next spring!
