Alumni Update

One of my field agents has sent me information on two alums who have been competing at the NCAA level this past spring. This was the NCAA West Regional, one step away from Nationals. Both athletes ran very well, my source says, and each were just a few spots away from qualifying for Nationals.

Both athletes had great seasons, with Alex dominating in the 1500 and the 800 in the Mountain West Conference, and Kirsten running a Drake record in the 1500 m of 4:23 (that is about a 4:42 mile, pretty fast!) in the Missouri Valley Conference. Coach Able is must be pretty proud of her old teammate, as am I!

Track Meet Order of Events

All events are traditionally run females first. There is rarely a hard time schedule that can be followed. A "rolling schedule" is followed, where the clock is essentially ignored and once an event is up, it is run. In other words, be early, be ready, be patient.

The only thing I know about field event scheduling is that they seem to change from meet to meet. I will try and post those schedules on a week-to-week basis.
